FreeRealEstateExamPrep

Editorial Policy

This site tells people what a licensing exam costs, how many questions it has and what score they need. People make decisions about their time and money on that basis, so the standards we hold it to should be written down and checkable.

  1. 1. Sourcing

Exam figures come from official candidate handbooks, state real estate commission publications and test provider pages. We do not use exam prep blogs, course sellers or aggregator sites as a source of record, because that is how a wrong number propagates for years.

Every figure carries the URL it came from and the date we checked it, and both are shown on the page. Where a figure differs from what most of the industry publishes, we say so and explain which document we followed.

  2. 2. Omission over estimation

If a state does not publish a figure, we leave it out. We do not infer it from a neighbouring state, carry it over from a prior year, or reproduce a number circulating on other sites that traces back to nothing. An absent figure is an honest statement about what is public.

  3. 3. Review

No licensed professional has independently reviewed this content yet. A licensed reviewer is being engaged. Until that is in place we will not describe this material as expert reviewed, verified by professionals, or anything similar, because it would not be true.

  4. 4. Freshness

Exam fees, question counts and course hour requirements change. Pages carry the month they were last built and state figures carry the date each was verified. We re check the highest traffic states quarterly and the remainder annually, or sooner when a commission publishes a new handbook. All 50 states are currently sourced.

  5. 5. Corrections

Write to [email protected] with the page and what is wrong. If you can link the official document, that speeds things up considerably.

We aim to acknowledge within two working days. A factual error gets fixed as soon as we can confirm it against a primary source. When we correct something that could have changed a reader's decision, such as a fee or a passing score, we note the change on the page rather than editing silently.

  6. 6. Advertising and affiliate links

This site is free and is supported by advertising and by referral links to pre licensing course providers. Those links are labelled where they appear.

A commercial relationship never buys placement in our exam content, never affects a state figure, and never changes a practice question. Affiliate links do not appear inside practice exams, glossary entries or math content. See our affiliate disclosure for the full statement.

  7. 7. Use of AI

Drafting is assisted by AI tooling. Sourcing is not: every state figure was read from the document it cites, and where a tool summary conflicted with the underlying PDF we used the PDF. During research we found at least one case where an automated summary invented figures that the actual bulletin contradicted, which is precisely why the rule exists.
