Disclaimer and Scope of Use
This page sets out what this site is for and where its limits are. Read it before relying on anything here for a decision that costs you money or time.
1. Educational use only
Everything here is a study aid. It is not legal advice, not financial advice, and not a substitute for your state approved pre licensing course, which most states require by law before you may sit the exam. Completing practice questions here does not satisfy any education requirement anywhere.
2. Not affiliated with any exam provider or commission
FreeRealEstateExamPrep is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to PSI, Pearson VUE, any state real estate commission, or any licensing authority. Their names appear here only to describe which body administers which exam.
3. Our questions are not real exam questions
Licensing exam items are confidential and we do not have them. Our questions are written independently to match the format, difficulty and topic weighting of the published content outline. They are designed to prepare you for the kind of question you will face, not to predict the specific questions you will see.
4. Accuracy and currency of exam figures
We source exam fees, question counts, time limits, passing scores and course hour requirements from official handbooks and commission publications, and we show you the source and the date on every figure. These change without notice. Always confirm against your state commission or test provider before you book, pay or make a decision. Where we could not source a figure we leave it blank rather than estimating.
No licensed real estate professional has independently reviewed this content yet. We state this plainly here and on our methodology page rather than leaving you to assume otherwise.
5. No guarantee of exam results
Using this site does not guarantee you will pass. Scoring well on our practice exams is a useful signal, not a prediction. Where we show your score against a state passing standard, that compares you to our practice material and not to the real exam, which is written and scored by the test provider.
6. Scaled scores
Many states report a scaled score rather than a percentage of questions answered correctly. Where that is the case we do not draw a pass line, because a raw practice percentage cannot be compared to a scaled score without misleading you. On those pages we say so and show the score without a verdict.
7. Authoritative sources
For binding rules, fees, eligibility and exam content, go to the primary source rather than to us:
- Your state real estate commission or licensing board. This is the only body that can tell you what your licence actually requires. Every state page on this site links directly to its regulator.
- Your candidate information bulletin or candidate handbook, published by PSI or Pearson VUE for your state. This is the controlling document for exam length, fees, ID rules and what you may bring.
- PSI at psiexams.com and Pearson VUE at pearsonvue.com for scheduling, rescheduling and test centre policy.
- ARELLO at arello.org for licence verification and reciprocity between jurisdictions.
Where this site and one of those sources disagree, the source is right and we are wrong. Please tell us so we can correct it.
8. Get an authoritative answer for your own situation
This site cannot answer questions about your individual eligibility, and no study aid can. If your situation involves any of the following, contact your state commission directly before you spend money on a course or an exam booking:
- A criminal record, or a past disciplinary action on any licence
- Licensing in more than one state, reciprocity, or moving your licence between states
- A licence that has lapsed, been suspended, revoked or placed inactive
- Immigration, residency or legal-status questions
- Anything where a wrong answer costs you an application fee or a delay
Commission staff answer these questions for free. We are not a substitute for that call, and we do not give legal, financial or career advice.
9. External links and third parties
We link to state commissions, test providers and, where labelled, course providers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices. A link is not an endorsement beyond what the surrounding text says.
10. Limitation of liability
This site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FreeRealEstateExamPrep accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on its content, including exam fees, application fees, lost time or a failed attempt. Your use of the site is at your own risk.
Governing law: New South Wales, Australia. Operated by an independent publisher. Nothing here affects any consumer right you have under the law of your own country or state that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Updates to this disclaimer
We may update this disclaimer from time to time. The current version is always the one published at this URL, and material changes are reflected in the last reviewed date at the top of this page. Your use of the site is also governed by our terms and privacy policy.
