Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure
Everything on this site is free, which means something else pays for it. This page explains what, and what that money does not buy.
1. How we make money
Right now, we do not. This site carries no advertising and no affiliate links today. Nothing on it is monetised, and no provider pays us anything.
This page describes the rules we are committing to before we have any money at stake, which is the only point at which such a commitment is worth making. When advertising or referral links do appear, it will be in the two ways below, and this page will be updated to say so on the day it happens.
The intended model is display advertising plus referral commissions when a reader buys a pre-licensing course through a link here. If you were to use such a link, the provider may pay us a commission. It would never cost you more than going direct.
2. Where affiliate links appear, and where they never do
Course referral links appear in a labelled block, positioned after the study content on a page rather than inside it.
They never appear inside a practice exam, a question explanation, a glossary definition, the flashcards, or a state exam facts table. Those surfaces exist to answer a question you asked, and putting a commercial link inside one corrupts the answer.
3. What commercial relationships do not buy
No advertiser or course provider can influence a state exam figure, a practice question, an explanation, or which states we cover. Our state data comes from official handbooks, and no commercial relationship changes a number that came out of a government document.
We publish course comparisons only after the free study material is established, and a commission rate does not determine ranking. If we ever recommend a provider we do not earn from, we will say so; if we recommend one we do, that is disclosed at the link.
4. Why we take the money at all
Because the alternative is charging you, and the point of this site is that you have already paid for a course, an exam and an application, usually before earning anything. Advertising keeps the practice material free and unsignposted by a paywall.
5. Regulatory disclosure
This disclosure is made in line with the US Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and testimonials. Our editorial policy sets out how commercial and editorial content are kept separate.
Questions about our funding
Write to [email protected]. We read every message and reply to anything that identifies a factual error within two working days.
If you would rather not use our links, going direct to any provider costs you exactly the same.
